A roof inspection gives you a better understanding of the condition of your roof without having to climb up and look for yourself. Ed’s Exteriors can inspect the visible roof systems, take photos, and explain what looks good, what may need attention soon, and what should be repaired right away
A free basic roof inspection includes a visual check of the main roof systems on your home. Ed will inspect the shingles, ridge cap, valleys, flashings, pipe jacks, roof vents, and other visible roof details. Photos are taken during the inspection so you can see the condition of your roof without having to climb up yourself. After the inspection, Ed will verbally explain what was found, show you the inspection photos, and let you know if anything needs attention. A free basic roof inspection is a helpful way to understand the current condition of your roof, but it does not include a written detailed report.
This basic inspection is a good fit for homeowners who want a roof update, are concerned about possible damage, or want an experienced roofer to take a closer look. If you need a written report with photos, condition notes, and repair recommendations, a premium detailed roof report may be the better option.
A premium roof inspection includes everything from the free basic inspection, plus a detailed written report with photos, condition notes, and recommendations. This is a good option for homeowners who want documentation before buying or selling a home, after a storm, or when they want a clearer understanding of the roof’s condition.

The green section of the report shows roof areas that are in good condition and are not a current concern. Not every roof inspection leads to repairs or replacement. If your roof looks good, the report will clearly show that too.

The yellow section shows items that are not an immediate emergency, but may need attention in the near future. These could include aging pipe boots, worn shingles, exposed fasteners, minor flashing concerns, or other roof details that should be watched or repaired before they become bigger problems.

The red section shows active leaks, storm damage, failing roof components, or other issues that need attention as soon as possible. These are the items most likely to cause interior damage, worsen over time, or require immediate repair.
Premium roof inspections start at $299 for a basic walkable roof. Pricing can increase depending on roof slope, height, size, layers, accessibility, and overall complexity. A simple one-story roof is much faster and safer to inspect than a steep, tall, cut-up roof with multiple roof sections, valleys, and details.

Starting at $299 for a basic roof with a walkable slope. This includes a roof inspection, photos, condition notes, and a detailed written report showing the overall condition of the roof.

For steep, tall, large, or complex roofs, pricing is based on the difficulty and time required to inspect the roof safely and prepare the report. Final pricing is provided before the inspection is completed.
If requested, a premium inspection can include an EagleView roof report for roof measurements. If repairs or replacement are recommended, Ed’s Exteriors can also provide a repair estimate, roof replacement estimate, or insurance-style Xactimate estimate when needed.
Homeowners are not required to hire Ed’s Exteriors for the recommended work. You are free to use the report for your own records, complete small repairs yourself, get other estimates, or hire the contractor of your choice.

The shingle roof at Langseth Lodge, was almost 20 years old and needed to be upgraded. Ed supplied the shingles and His foreman Ben was very capable and efficient. I was allowed to help provid labor, which cut my costs. We will use him again.Posted on Google Catherine VanDeventerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. "We had a great experience with this company. Edward Hirsch was involved when they replaced the roof on our old house and did an awesome job, so he was our first call when we needed an inspection on a new house we were buying.Edward came out again and did a really thorough job with the inspection. He pointed out a few important details that our regular home inspector missed, which gave us a lot of peace of mind during the buying process. It’s hard to find contractors you can trust, but Edward really knows his stuff and is always reliable. Highly recommend!"Posted on Google John GreeneTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ed and his team are awesome. They helped us with a big insurance claim on our house. We had two other contractors get involved before that, and Ed made them look like amateurs. Communication was great. He was extremely helpful with the claim process, and most importantly their work was all top notch. I used to build homes, and now work with contractors professionally so I’ve seen a lot. We also loved that Ed and his daughter work as a team. Solid people, solid work!Posted on Google Corey McCracken ReMaxTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a little bit of damage on our vinyl siding from a storm. Ed worked with the insurance company and got them to pay for replacing all of my siding. I definitely would recommend him.Posted on Google Zak HusseinTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Ed did a great job of replacing the shingles on my house and garage. Took him one day to get them both done. He even repaired a rotten corner on my facia/soffit free of charge. He did such a great job on my house that I had him put new shingles on a rental house I own nearby. For that job he brought his whole family so he can teach his kids the trade.Posted on Google Alex LeGardeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Timely and communicative, would suggest Ed for any roofing needs.Posted on Google Elle MillerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We got our roof done by Ed and team in May 2025. They did a great job. We got quotes from multiple companies and went with Ed for his reasonable prices and good communication. He also was able to get us on the schedule us sort of last minute and get the roof done while I was in the hospital having a baby. The flexibility/timing was perfect. We will use him again for future house projects!Load moreVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
